SERIE A WEEK 20 : NO SURPRISES

La Dea made a mockery of packed fixture lists and strength in depth, topping their Europa League group and reaching the Coppa Italia Semi-Finals.

Was it really a surprise to see Atalanta beat Roma at the Stadio Olimpico? They’ve earned the right to expect that kind of result over the past 18 months and Gasperini’s men will only get stronger after this two-week break to recharge the batteries. Dominant displays away to Milan, Napoli, Everton and Roma are no fluke.

Lazio and Atalanta would do well not to set limits on themselves, because whatever they’re doing, it’s working.

SERIE A, 20mo TURNO: NESSUNA SORPRESA

Arriva un momento nel quale squadre e giocatori terminano di essere sorprese e iniziano ad essere considerate nel giusto modo. Lazio e Atalanta alzatevi, siete state promosse al rango di compagini in grado di finire tra le prime quattro!

L'Atalanta ha venduto meta' squadra nel corso dell'anno spedendo anche Gagliardini all'Inter a gennaio 2017 e acchiappando la quarta piazza. Hanno continuato a luglio vendendo Kessie e Conti senza colpo ferire a Gasperini. La Dea si e' fatta beffe del previsto intenso programma di incontri e si è ulteriormente rafforzata vincendo il suo girone di Europa League e raggiungendo la semifinale di Coppa Italia.

E' stata veramente una sorpresa vedere l'Atalanta battere la Roma all'Olimpico? Ormai ha creato l'aspettativa per risultati di questo tipo a fronte di 18 mesi di comportamento simile e gli uomini di Gasperini diventeranno ancora piu' forti dopo queste 2 settimane di sosta ricaricando le batterie. Un dominio in trasferta contro Milan, Napoli, Everton e Roma non puo' essere attribuito ad un colpo di fortuna.

Lazio e Atalanta non dovrebbero porsi limiti perche' qualsiasi cosa facciano funziona.
